QuietScan is an app that turns paper documents into PDFs entirely on your device. This policy explains how personal information is handled in the app.
The app does not automatically collect information that identifies you personally. Scanned documents, OCR text, and settings are stored on your device. They are not automatically sent to any server.
Scanned PDFs, page images, and OCR results are saved in the app's documents folder on your device and can be accessed directly from the Files app. OCR is performed on-device using Apple Vision.
To verify Pro feature purchase status, the app uses RevenueCat through Apple's StoreKit. Only an anonymous device identifier and purchase history are shared with RevenueCat. Scanned images, OCR text, and document contents are never sent.
Only if you register an OpenAI or Google Gemini API key in settings, and only when you run Format, Translate, or Summarize from a detail screen, the relevant OCR text is sent to that provider. This is off by default. Submitted content is handled according to each provider's privacy policy.
Only if you download a local AI model (Gemma 4) in settings, AI features can run entirely on your device. The model file is downloaded from Hugging Face and then works without network communication.
The app does not use advertising networks, analytics SDKs, or tracking.
The app does not include features directed to children under 13. Use by children under 13 should be decided and supervised by a parent or guardian.
All related data can be deleted by deleting the app or deleting the document folder from the Files app. No data is stored on our servers.
